Excursion information
Poema del Mar, one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world, opened in 2017, has turned the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria into a key tourist destination. Despite its short history, it offers a unique experience: a journey into the deepest ocean through its impressive Deep Sea exhibition, featuring the largest curved display window in the world, measuring 36 meters wide and 7.35 meters high.
With a total depth of 8.5 meters and more than 5.5 million liters of water, Deep Sea allows visitors to admire the wonders of the ocean in an unparalleled environment. The route begins in The Jungle, recreating landscapes from around the world in tribute to the five continents. It continues in Reef, where a large 400,000-liter cylinder showcases a wide variety of corals and fish, and ends in the spectacular Deep Sea.
Poema del Mar is strongly committed to innovation, biodiversity conservation and sustainable tourism. It has been declared of strategic interest for the Canary Islands, strengthening Gran Canaria’s position as an international tourist destination. It also holds the Global Humane Society certification and has received the Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Award thanks to its excellent visitor reviews.
