Ideal for astronomy lovers in Tenerife
The Astronomic Tour of Teide is our 2-in-1 Teide astronomical tour, which combines a Teide Observatory visit with a stargazing experience.
DEPARTURE DAY:
Wednesday, Saturday
Excursion information
An 8-hour activity in which our Starlight guide will accompany you at all times so you can enjoy Mount Teide at night. But that’s not all—you will also be joined by nocturnal creatures. As the sun sets, everything changes in the National Park. Daytime beings hide in their shelters, while the night dwellers emerge from their hiding places.
Many invertebrates begin scurrying among the plants, and harmless bats become lords of the scrubland as they leave the volcanic tubes, cracks, and caves where they spend the day sleeping, to hunt moths and nocturnal butterflies. Five of the seven bat species found in the Canary Islands inhabit the National Park. Among them, the Canary big-eared bat stands out—the only endemic mammal of the Canary Islands—as well as the European free-tailed bat, the largest bat species living on the islands.
